Sunset at Hampi | Canon Powershot sx150 | f5.6 | 1/200" exposure | 60mm
This image was taken at sunset, at the ancient city of Hampi, India, during my trip their in 2012.
Hampi, which dates back to the 14th Century, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city was once one of the most powerful and wealthiest in India, attracting traders from around the world, until, in 1565, it was destroyed by sultanate armies.

The Lotus Palace was designed for royal ladies, but was also used by the king to consult with ministers and advisors.
Indian Rail Travel | Canon Powershot SX150 | f5.6 | 1/1,250" exposure | 60mm
I was actually staying in Goa, more than 300km away. Seeing as how no trip to India is complete without a rail journey... I travelled 8hours by train to visit Hampi.
