Nettle is a herbaceous plant that grows in cultivated or uncultivated areas in gardens, backyards, besides trenches, beside the road, on the edge of the water, in forests or on fat places where there were sheepfolds.
Leaves emit substances (formic acid) which in contact with the skin produce urticaria (specific inflammation, accompanied by stinging and intense pruritus), hence the Latin name of the plant.
