This is a second world war mine
These mines are used as a collection boxes for donations to help support the dependants of those lost at sea. As well as sick and retired fishermen and mariners in need
This one is located on promenade at Filey in North Yorkshire. There is also one located on the North Pier at Bridlington. These mines used to have the brass pins attached when i was little. I assume they been removed due to health and safety reasons
