It concerns a tradition. Blue-blooded carriers on the west coast of Sumatra, almost all of them, make yellow as their symbol, their clothes, including their crowns, up to flags and banners, all yellow.
Not only that, even after they died, in their graves, were also placed yellow flags, as a sign that it is the grave of the nobles.
So, why do they use yellow flags? What is the symbolic meaning of the yellow color to them?
The yellow color for them symbolizes majesty, has laws and customs. So wherever the yellow flag is established, it's a sign that the area has a master who has laws and customs, and everyone who comes to the area should respect it all.
These are the pictures I took near a beautiful beach on the southwest coast of Aceh. The yellow flags were put there to inform that the ones buried there were the nobles in the area.
