I had chicken soup on the menu tonight and I wanted to add some greens to the soup so I went to the garden for some spinach leaves.
While shopping for my leaves I found these gorgeous Hakurei Turnips! These are the first turnips I have grown from seed and I am so impressed with them. I tasted one raw and it was really good. It's like a mild, sweet crunchy Radish without the zing or spice.
The turnips tasted extra sweet when they were in the soup! I am definitely going to grow more of these! I also cut up the Turnip leaves with the the spinach and the kind of reminded me of boiled watercress. I'm on to a winner with these turnips!
