Some Of My Favorite Things

If there one thing I really love, it's the cold and seeing as I'm in Africa, a place not really know for its cold, I can't get enough cold here.
When I was much younger I think I got addicted to slushies, something about the sensation of almost frozen liquid on your mouth on a hot summers day, not much can compare. Apart from actually buying my very own slushy machine, which is something I have looked into, but it's rather pricey especially here. This is where a few years ago I made a amazing little discovery as to how to make my very own home made slushies.
It's rather easy to do but does take a bit of time, and there are a few variables that you should take into consideration. All you really need to do is find your favorite soft drink, and pop it into the freezer, yup that's it.
I would recommend getting a timer, as freezers temperatures do differ, and it requires you to check the consistancy of your slushy every 30min to an hour. If you wait too long it become too frozen and you loose that smooth slushy consistency, if you are too impatient you end up with a half asses slushy.
Something you should make sure to is to drink as least one fifth of the bottle before you pop it into the freeze, you don't want this exploding all over the floor when you first open it. My personal best is to use orange Fanta or grape, it's just perfect for movie night. I would strongly suggest you stay away Coke, it's just way too much gas.
