Every Sunday is skate day for me and my son, we are regulars at the Galaxy Skateway here. Although red is not typically our go-to color, it does look bad-ass in combination with black and we have grown to love our brightly colored gear. Perfect for 's Red Monday @ColorChallenge!
We skate hard and fast - wear and tear to prove it. LOL
I'm skating on Sure Grip Avanti Blacks with a custom cushion and wheel setups on each skate. I use 62mm Sure Grip Zombie Aluminum Hub Wheels with a combination of Red 95A speed and Black 92A pushers on Qube 8ball Bearings. My truck cushion are harder on my right skate for more control. My goal is speed and control of that speed in the turns, not so much for tricks or stunts. As we get older the other side of our brain kicks in and reminds us we no longer bounce when we fall, we break. (LOL) For an added touch of fun when the rink lights are off, I have red led lights wedged tight between the frame and boot.
My son is skating on Riedell Darts with the Red/Black Ombre Fade on 62mm wheels. He is lighter, so we kept the stock bearings and wheels - just configured them in a checkerboard pattern for fun. He is more into tricks, jumping, power slides, and all that jazz - and is getting really good at it considering his age.
The crazy part of it all is that our matching color theme was completely coincidental. Red and Black happened to be the colors for the hardness ratings of the wheels I wanted (Zombies) for my skates and my son preferred the Red/Black version over the Orange/Black offered for his skates. So we "rolled" with it and made it work.
Fruit Punch and Water to keep hydrated - and it's Red.
