After 7 years of California drought, heavy rains brought a "superbloom" to the Carrizo Plain in Central California in April, 2017. Being there was like being in the The Wizard of Oz scene where it turns color from black and white. Almost psychedelic. Seas of purple, hills of yellow. I'm so glad I got to see it. This particular shot is of an area where the San Andreas Rift forms a shallow seasonal pond.
