The vibrant, colorful harbor of Kalk Bay in Cape Town has long been a favorite topic of photographers and painters alike. Looking through these shots I can't help but hear the Thomas and Friends theme music playing in my head :)
Seals hang around these steps that lead up to the fish cleaning area, seals keeping an eye out for scraps and fishermen keeping an eye on their catch so that a sneaky pelican or seagull don't help themselves.
The 'Southern Star'
A boat heading out for the day.
On this harbor you can find 2 of the best fish and chips spots. One is Lucky Fish- Done up in white and blue with more or a Mediterranean feel and then Kalkies, where the only cash is accepted and you're packed in on cafeteria style benches and mismatched chairs. Both are charming in their own way.
Hope you enjoyed the tour of the tiny harbor :)
Have a good day
