Tancuj Tancuj Hložany

First some words about the festival. Tancuj Tancuj is the biggest Slovak folklore festival in Serbia. The goal of the Festival is to contribute to the preservation and improvement of Slovak folklore (games, songs, music and customs). The first festival was held on April 5, 1970. The main event is taking place in an amphitheater with a capacity of 2,600 seats, and there were over 4,000 there this year.

This was my first visit to this festival. I have no talent in dancing and singing and i was not a photographer until few years back so why would they take me :). Time of departure was 7:15 AM and all that know me, know that i am not a morning person (writing this at 3AM). Even ordered a waking call if i don't show up. We arrived to Hložany around 10AM, got some breakfast and went to a stage rehearsal.

After rehearsal we went to cultural Center where the first part of the festival is taking place. Here orchestras and choirs perform and compete.

After the first part, Padina orchestra got Second place, and Kovačica women's choir was the best in man/women choir competition. After this competition we had a short break for lunch and after that the show continued.

I will make this post a two parter as i thought that it would be to much images for one post, and i will have time to finish the video until i publish part two :)
