Daily Photo Contest ~ Two From My Car...Lastly, The Koreisha Mark

For the daily photo contest today, I got lazy and took two pictures from the driver's seat of my car. The first was a macro image of my Raceseng shift knob. This second image is a colurful photo of my Koreisha Mark. Those of you from Japan will recognize this as the symbol that indicates that an elderly person is at the wheel of a car. The previous version of the koreisha mark was an orange and yellow teardrop shape that was also called the momiji mark or autumn leaf mark. Apparently enough elderly people complained to the government about the mark, which resembled a dead leaf, that they changed to this newer form in 2011. In Japan, drivers 75 years or older are required to display this mark on the front and rear of their car. Me? I just have it as an air freshener, hanging from my mirror :-)
