Hi steemit friends,
For today's entry into the colourfulphotography challenge, I am sharing a photo that I took of some macaw's while visiting the Toronto Zoo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada several years ago. These are such beautiful birds and they have such vibrant, colourful plumage. There are two different species of macaws shown here - one is the "blue-and-yellow macaw" (Ara ararauna), while the other is the "red-and-green macaw" (Ara chloropterus).
These birds can both be found natively in South America, but are commonly found at zoos and nature parks around the world. Another very neat feature of these birds is that they have the ability to talk! While the speech is obviously very basic compared to the ability of humans, it is still super cool that they can repeat words and phrases that they hear!
