Nowadays, athletes or not, people are starting to get active with various running events even at the point of just joining for fun. As the years goes by, we witness how these events evolve into a unique and more conceptualized.
Like Color Manila Run! Yes, you perhaps heard of it or probably joined in their previous fun run because if not well you missed half the opportunity of a unique and fun running experience.
The Color Manila basically started the concept of colorful fun runs in the Philippines. Amazing right? from different costumes to colorful themed, they are genius in running events.
The first time I joined was year 2016 with the help of my friends who are active on social media. No doubt colorful fun run became a huge hit in the country because people are burned-out with typical running events.
Colors of Freedom - Independence Day Run
The event was held exactly on independence day so while some are gathering on different areas of the country to celebrate, we on the other hand are in BGC commemorating in the form of running to express our love for Philippine Independence.
The second time was 2017 last year then again with group of friends. This time the color manila was celebrating their 5th year anniversary so the event was held in a larger space which can accommodate thousands of runners.

Compare to my first fun run, this was my favorite because a lot of activites happen and their theme was American native indian or moreso tribal concept. I was so excited with my racing kit as it includes drifit shirt, racing bib, sun glasses, color powder packet and finisher's medal with dream catcher as the design.
Everyone was eager to start the race and the fun part was every station gave runners a different shades of color from pink, blue, green, purple and yellow.
The event ended with upbeat music and party but the highlight was splashing colored powders in the air with the whole gang splurged with different colors.
It was a year to remember and hoping to join again!
