On twitter Wednesday, comedian Amy Schumer may have confirmed that Comedy Central has cancelled her hit show 'Inside Amy Schumer'. It all started when Amy distanced herself from her friend and head writer of 'Inside Amy Schumer', Kurt Metzger, after his anti-rape victim rant on social media earlier this week:
Following repeated fan inquiry, Amy later vaguely stated that Kurt is no longer a writer for the show:
After more pressure for clarification from fans, Amy finally let the cat out of the bag with this tweet:
So the question remains: Has Amy's show been cancelled? Has she called it quits? Or is this a marketing move created by Amys PR team to deflect some of the attention from her head writer onto herself in order to generate much needed buzz for her recently released book? It was reported this morning that Amy has had to cancel events related to promotion of her book, which has faced abysmal customer reviews via Amazon.
This latest controversy comes in light of several other notable controversies surrounding Amy and Kurt Metzger, including accusations earlier this year that several routines and sketch ideas used on Amy's show, as well as in her stand-up act were stolen from other performers.
