I love comedy, I have always loved comedy. As a child I desired to become a comedian. "What happened?" I hear you ask. I'll tell you later...
My old time favourite comedians just to name a few, are Norman Wisdom, Benny Hill, Lenny Henry, Jasper Carrot, Billy Connoly, Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Bill Bailey and Ricky Gervais.
I enjoyed a range of comedy including Wacky Races, The Liver Birds, Man About The House, and The Real McCoy.
As a family we used to look forward to The Real McCoy, as this was a fresh and ingenious piece of art that was way overdue on our television screens.
Caribbean comedy has been killed off in t.v land. I wonder why there is no representation for this group on our screens.
Off Their Rockers says it all. You can guarantee that I'll be in stitches from start to finish.
I don't care for most of the comedy on t.v now as it is a drab to watch. They are all the same - "out there". Are the actors and actresses robots or hybrids?
Sexual innuendos, cursing and swearing are all part and parcel of contemporary comedy; yuck! Harsh and distasteful; who needs it anyway? I hope not to contradict myself. Rather, with age one can discern. Bring on the clean and easy listening comedy where the family can sit down together and enjoy laughing together; bring it on, bring it on. I need comedy that is like velvet to my ears.
Bible scripture puts it this way - Proverbs 17:22 NKJV "A merry heart does good, like medicine..."
