So tonight was the first night of a new comedy club that I've opened in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Something funny happened I thought I'd share with you all.

First of all, it was great night. We had two shows, one at 7:30 and one at 10:00. Everything ran smoothly and the comedians were hilarious. It really was a great night of comedy, and two great audiences.
I went up as the host tonight and did 10 minutes to kick off the shows. Once on stage I immediately realized one glaring mistake. In the haste to put the final touches on the room, the lights were one of the last things to go up. We also put them up in the daytime, so I didn't realize how bright they were.
When I got on stage, in the dark room, it was like standing on the sun. I couldn't see past the front row of seats. The entire audience I could only see six people. One of the comedians said that he felt like a rotisserie. Like the last hot dog at a gas station, just rolling around in the heat.
It turned out pretty funny. I'll need to make a few changes next week, but overall it was a great night. I actually had two strong sets and tried out a few new jokes. I was happy, because I've only had one good set recently at the open mics. lol Just being honest.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
Who are some of your favorite comedians? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading.
