I was doing one of my favorite things, which is going throug my comic book scans. This thing always gets me: notice how this issue from August 1966 cost 12 cents - and that's a price that actually made a profit per sold copy.
Imagine trying to make a profit today by selling stuff for 12 cents. You'd have to sell rocks, or something. 1966 wasn't even that long ago, and the dollar has lost so much of its value.
Today, Spider-Man comics in America are sold for around $5-$6, I think. Pretty amazing, pardon the pun.
