I thought I would start writing about comic books, because they're FUN! And start with Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries #10.
We just picked this up from our local comics dealer (this is a series being collected for and by my daughter, with my support) and I got to read it before her! There's a shock
This issue is Question Authority, written by Ivan Cohen, art by Dario Brizuela, colors by Franco Riesco, Letters by Saida Temofonte, and edited by Kristy Quinn.
This is another fun story for this limited 12 issue series, and we've been enjoying it here in our house This one has a couple of characters that I am not familiar with, including a special guest hero appearance, The Question, thus the name of the story. And, as the cover indicates, we get Shaggy Man.
The mystery involves a beast, or group of similar looking beasts that is terrorizing a strip of land and businesses along the Florida coast. Not wanting to give any spoilers away, other than the guest hero, that's where I'll stop with the story description.
Cohen turns in a good story here, and fits in well with all of the Scooby-Doo stories that have abounded over the decades. It actually left me wanting the story to be longer. Quite frankly, it should have been the whole book, and not just two-thirds of the book.
Brizuela's art is excellent, and it looks like he had a heck of a lot of fun drawing it. His drawing of the characters really had the right feel for Scooby-Doo, reminiscent of the original broadcast series, including the manner in which Velma runs.
I really enjoyed reading this issue, and if, like me, and my daughter, you enjoy comic books and Scooby-Doo, this is a series to check out.
Thanks for stopping by!
