Since it was that helped me find this site, I thought I would share a related comic and story.
So, I was setup at a rather poorly attended convention one Saturday afternoon and opted to dig through some of the other vendor's boxes of #comics and discovered this little gem, the final issue of Arsenic Lullaby. A couple of years prior, I had the privilege of meeting Douglas Paszkiewicz at what I would call a mid-size convention in Missouri. It was a Sunday afternoon and the traffic was slowing down. Douglas was at a table across the aisle from me selling his work which I was completely unfamiliar with, since I preferred superhero comics. He brought up a stack of books to purchase. I had a pretty good show, so I suggested we trade the comics for one of his books. I have several of his collected works now, so I am not sure which one it was. I have loaned it out for others to read several times and may not have gotten back. Regardless, I am glad I did that. Since then I have purchased several of his books and received sketches from him. I really wish his one issue run on a certain comic had been longer, and I also wish they would have let him write it, but I think Douglas should tell that story (you know, comment on his page at and see what he says).
If you have not read any Arsenic Lullaby #comics, check out . He very generously posts some of his work on the page and in his email newsletter. Do be warned that Douglas is an equal-opportunity offender. He will also point out stupidity and inconsistency where he sees it (which I think is a good thing).
So, there it is, the final issue of Arsenic Lullaby, signed and numbered. It comes with a nice little note that says:
"This is the final issue of Arsenic Lullaby. Until now it was lost in the shuffle as the series, moved to a larger publisher AAA Milwaukee Publishing and split into two books, The Arsenic Lullabies, and Laughter of the damned. Only 2000 copies of this issue have, and will ever be printed! you are holding no. 1887 of 2000."
And if you are wondering, his last name is pronounced pas-kay-vich. I had to ask. :)
