Two weeks ago Ghost City Comics held a comic competition called the 5x5 Fest.
The competition's premise is that each entrant has only 5 days to make a 5 page finished comic story. The entries may be done as a collaborative team or done as a solo project. The Catch is that Ghost City Comics provides a prop, a setting and a piece of dialogue that must be integrated into the story. Since I've been writing so much lately, I have been really itching to draw some completed comic pages. I also decided to do all of the work myself to give myself a high learning curve since I have never ever put together an entire comic by myself.
So without further adieu, here's my entry into 5x5 Fest, "Clandestine":
Well, that's it. I hope you liked it.
This was a huge challenge for me and I've learned a tremendous amount about pacing, story beats, and just how much one can fit on a page. I've also learned my limits in art when it comes to speed.
I want to congratulate the winners and all the finalists. I hope to read everyones entries in the fest real soon.
Please let me hear from all of you on Steemit. Let me know what you like, what you didn't and if there's anything you think that I could have done to help the story. All feedback is welcome. I have a lot of progress video footage that I will convert into a "Lessons Learned" video for Comic Penciling channel. So you guys have that to look forward to. Have a great night!
