While much of the artwork is primitive when compared to some of the more modern era, it still reminded me of when I read comics as a child. I am referring to Sabretooth Classic #15, which was published in 1995. However, Chris Claremont's story was actually published originally in Uncanny X-Men #222, which was from quite a few years before this published date. Adam Pollina and Cam Smith were responsible for the new cover pictured above. The original artwork, which can be seen inside the book, was done by Marc Silvestri, Dan Green and Glynis Oliver.
Being from an X-Men book may explain why Sabretooth doesn't show up until towards the end. The beginning of this issue has Rogue and Dazzler fighting off the currents of the water, as well as battling the latest hero to turn bad, Polaris. Our heroes also have to deal with some fans that they met in Japan months ago. Dazzler's powers create chaos on the beach, as the sunbathers don't understand what's going on. When Havoc comes to their aid, he is surprised to find out the person he blasted was Polaris, his girlfriend. He also pays the price when she wakes up.
Meanwhile, a powerless Storm and Nazé are on a quest in the Rockies. It is here where they are tricked into dealing with the Eye Killers. It appears that Forge is the only thing on Storm's mind as he too is working for the wrong side. During the other battle, it becomes known that Polaris is under the spell of Malice.
It is only when Wolverine enters the picture that Sabretooth shows up to confront him. While Wolverine is on the side of the X-Men, Sabretooth has no desire to help humans. Going back to some of these older issues, it is always nice to flush out some of the history of these Marvel characters.
