I recently picked up a copy of "Daredevil: Gang War" #2 and it appears that Erica Schultz is spinning a tale of chaos among the more-connected vicious gangs of New York City. Sergio Davila, Sean Parsons and Ceci De La Cruz have brought all of the blazing action in all its graphic glory to the eye-popping panels of this comic book. A bunch of corrupt ex-policemen known as the Heat have made their mark in Hell's Kitchen. Hammerhead had been working each of these gang's leaders against each other. Having thought he killed Madame Masque, Hammerhead was shocked to find himself taken down by her. Madame Masque appears to be in control of the entire chaotic situation.
Receiving tips from the obvious double agent the Owl, Elektra thought she had the Heat's leader Rafael Scarfe cornered only to be foiled by a very powerful and deadly assassin. Gun Trading and Human Trafficking are only the tip of the iceberg as to what's happening here. In order to bring some kind of justice to New York, Elektra needs to figure out this assassin's identity. The big question is why does she possess claws like Wolverine?
Meanwhile, Luke Cage has his hands full with battles in other sections of the city. Therefore, Elektra shouldn't expect backup anytime soon. I still have a problem with referring to Elektra as Daredevil, but that is the cross that she is bearing at this moment in time. The Gang War story is crossing over into many other issues including "Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu," "Luke Cage," "Amazing Spider-Man" and "Miles Morales: Spider-Man." This battle doesn't seem like it's going to come to an end soon. That's good news for us readers!
