I have made it very clear that Daredevil has always been one of my favorite comic reads. However, I have been so far behind. I have been purchasing back issues, as well as newer issues, upon visiting Conquest Comics ( ). One of the latest issues I purchased was Daredevil #12, or #660 if you count like I do. I was shocked to notice the man without fear sporting a beard. I did know that Elektra was referring to herself as Daredevil, but I didn't know they were married! Also, the thing about Foggy and Stick being hand puppets blows my mind! Besides, I thought Foggy was dead.
Apparently, I am coming in on the twelfth installment of Chip Zdarsky's Red Fist storyline. With Murdock and Elektra being the king and queen of The Fist, they thought they had the upper hand on The Hand, a Ninja cult. Elektra and the ex-criminals that Murdock indoctrinated into The Fist were all captured. The combined artistry of Marco Checchetto and Matthew Wilson takes graphic novels to another level. I especially like the panels where Murdock reveals his eye mutilation to Elektra. The emotion just jumped off the page!
As we are accustomed to when it comes to their relationship, Murdock and Elektra battle one another to solve their difference of opinion on how to move forward against The Beast, who is in control of the souls of his friends. He knows that the only way to end this is to enter hell. He already saved Sam Chung from this fate. The issues that follow this one, which I need to pick up, seem to reveal a major transformation for Murdock.
