I have probably said it a hundred times before, but I must again emphasize that Marvel's Daredevil was one of my favorite superheroes growing up. And even though that was many moons ago, a warm fuzzy feeling still comes over me when I read one of the blind lawyer's issues now. In issue #7, we are presented with "The Red Fist Saga" Part 7. This storyline by Chip Zdarsky seems likely to have been running since the start of the reboot in issue numbers.
The Hand, a group of destructive ninjas without a conscience, have been squaring off against The Fist for centuries. Besides being married, Matt Murdoch and Elektra Natchios are now the King and Queen of The Fist. To assist in their battle against The Hand, Matt and Elektra enlisted some of the incarcerated thugs at the Myrmidon, also with the plan to put them on the road to rehabilitation. These ex-jailbirds get to work out on The Fist's own special island.
Currently leading The Hand is The Punisher. Aka is constantly in the ear of The Punisher. Daredevil himself doesn't even claim to be a hero! Going against the law, Murdoch knows he has to break the law in order to do the right thing. Utilizing the police force for forced evictions with the law behind them is a backwards way to say you're a law abiding citizen and are okay with this. Just ask Murdoch!
Bullet, Speed Demon and Stilt-Man are three of the criminals on Daredevil's team. It is when Bullet's kid is taken that the rules begin to change. Bullet needed to be with his son. Although this played against Daredevil's better judgement, he felt it may help with Bullet's rehabilitation. Unfortunately, when Bullet left to go home, he was surprised to find out that his kid was taken. Daredevil's team needs more time to be prepared to take on missions. However, because a kid is involved, it looks like they may be pressed into action. Rafael De Latorre, Marco Checchetto, Elisabetta D'Amico and Matthew Wilson produce a graphic story in which the artwork just jumps off each page. This is definitely a piece that I have to pick up the previous issues due to this major change in the life of my favorite superhero.
