We already know that Daredevil's senses compensate for his lack of sight. Now, he is teaming up with someone whose senses compensate for her lack of hearing. Taboo and B. Earl tackled the story in the debut issue of "Daredevil & Echo." I wrote many times about Matt Murdock. Echo is Maya Lopez, who was raised as a child by the Kingpin after he murdered her father. A hand-to-hand combat specialist, Lopez eventually turned her back on the Kingpin and became a superhero. Phil Noto's artwork adds a noir meets gangs of New York feel to the story.
There appears to be a connection between Hell's Kitchen in 1835 and present-day Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil and Elektra are investigating murders where the victims are literally missing a piece of themselves. In 1835, Tommy Murdock has turned over a new leaf and had become a Christian man. Things appear to be changing again when Murdock is informed of murders that have taken place and the introduction of a Native American woman referred to as Creeping Death. Death claims to have info for Murdock about the killings.
Daredevil runs into Echo while investigating a scream. Then, a mysterious girl leads them to the same church that the group in 1835 are led to. The only difference is in 1835, the church was beautiful and now it lies in awful condition. One entity is obviously playing with both timelines. Daredevil and Echo are shocked as to what they find but the big question as to why they are there appears to be about to be answered sooner than later!
