On Midgard, Jane Foster is a Mortician. On Asgard, she is a Valkyrie. In both cases, Ms. Foster ensures that the dead are brought to their final places of rest. Jane Foster was also Thor for a brief time. This was when he couldn't lift his magical weapon. Thor can now not only lift Mjolnir again, but he is also the new All-Father of Asgard. However, in "Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor" #1, Thor is missing and Mjolnir finds its way to Jane Foster.
Tyr Odinson is angry after being branded a traitor. Hela refuses to help Tyr, but finds an oath clouded in darkness will give him his freedom. This may lead Thor to be a consolation prize for some enchantress. That is, once they find him. Jane Foster and Roz Solomon become part of a sting operation with the Avengers in New York to prevent a catastrophic event from taking place. As Valkyrie, Foster has the ability to "know" things about the future.
Valkyrie joins Beta Ray Bill as Algrim the Strong leads an army of Dark Elves to destroy Asgard. Bill is confident that they can succeed in the defense of Asgard even though Thor is nowhere to be found.
In a side note, it appears that Rona experiences a moment with Michelle at Bake My Day. They are connecting over coffee and pie. Torunn Gronbekk does a great job in developing the complicated storyline, even though it does get confusing at times. The artistry of Michael Dowling and the coloring of Jesus Aburtov are worthy of Heavy Metal album covers. It will be interesting to see where this goes, including the LGBTQ part of the story.
