As we know from other stories about the Silver Surfer, to keep his planet safe, Norrin Radd gave up whatever freedom he had to do the bidding of Galactus. Unlike other worlds, he wouldn't allow Galactus to gain control of the Earth. Toni Brooks had moved with her family to the quaint town of Sweetwater in New York. For a quiet town, there are many mysteries, especially the one that carries John Jennings' story in "Silver Surfer: Ghost Light" #2. With the help of her brother Josh, she came upon a lab that was secretly stashed underneath their home.
It was in this lab that the Brooks family find the Silver Surfer fighting with Uncle Al, whom had been missing for quite awhile. While Al had visions of Toni, leading him back to his home, Toni also had visions of a "Shining Man," who turned out to be her uncle. Once the Silver Surfer finally convinces Al that they are friends, he begins to listen to reason.
It was their friendship that attracted the attention of The Stranger from the planet Gigantus. Planning on doing some experimentation on Al at Labworld, The Stranger is on a quest to recapture him and take him back to his lab where he has been performing tests on other aliens. Now, they both have the impossible task of getting the Brooks family to digest it all.
The SS and Al work together when a camp is overrun by alien creatures only a few miles from their home. As the last two kids are brought to the house, something very alien-like appears to be wrong. While he was no Daredevil to me, I was always intrigued by the Silver Surfer. While Valentine De Landro's artwork and Matt Milla's colors helped me envision this story being on the big screen, there appeared to be a few typos in the book that had me racking my brain to figure out if it was intentional!
