Solo Leveling
Created by author Chu-Gong along with artists Gi So-Ryeong and Jang Su-Rak, Solo Leveling is a Korean digital comic that follows Sung Jin-Woo, the weakest hunter, and his quest to become the strongest, S-Rank hunter.
The story takes place in the present-day world where “Gates” that connect our world to a monster world suddenly starts appearing all over along with giving some everyday people the power to hunt within these Gates. These people are called Hunters.
However, not all Hunters are strong such as in Sung Jin-Woo’s case, a lowly E-Rank. Jin-Woo was given the title “World’s Weakest” for just being that weak risking his life over and over, barely being able to earn money for his sickly mother. During an expedition through a D-Rank dungeon, he encountered a ridiculously difficult hidden dungeon. After sacrificing himself and being tossed around like a rag-doll, he accepted his death.
Suddenly, Jin-Woo, my boy, woke up in the hospital with a strange power, in the form of a videogame quest system, that forces him to train and continuously become stronger. With this Jin-Woo's journey to becoming the strongest begins.
With being well-paced and having a gorgeous art style, Solo Leveling is a great read for those who enjoy a good underdog journey. It will have the average reader anticipating the next release of each chapter with their exciting and attention-grabbing content.
This story is worth the read just for its eye-catching visuals by its talented artists. Truly, I do recommend Solo-Leveling if it tickles your fancy.
