Snake knows what's up. And I couldn't agree with him more...although I wish I didn't have to.
Seems like the world has been moving too rapidly lately. Busy, busy, busy...BAM! I waste an entire morning sleeping. I had PLANS for today, but don't have time to complete them now. Oh well. If I needed to catch up on some rest, I guess I needed to...
So much to do, though: new crypto art to write stories for and publish, the next chapter in my new "Story Time" segment to write, several more Spook Show reviews to write, a new Read a Damn Book review ALMOST ready to write, Uncle Randy's Bigfoot book to compile, my Steem book to finish, my Read a Damn Book book to put together, an RPG that I'm working on writing, Halloween music to put together for the DJ gig I've got coming up for the Longview Public Library's Halloween Monster Mash Party, a grandkid to hang out with, my new LIVE STREAM thing I'm putting together to test out and start broadcasting, plus I've completely neglected my WordPress, Ello, and Instagram accounts lately, which ain't smart...
The phrase "spread too thin" keeps going through my head---(although that might just be because "thin" should be "thinly," as the word being modified is "spread," which is a verb, so the adverb form of the word is required, even if the colloquial phrase more often uses "thin," which is incorrect because it's an adjective. You can take the boy out of the Writing Center, but you can't take the Writing Center out of the...old man.)
Plus, I ain't thin. At all. I like cookies...
Work tonight. Closing shift. Probably have to sleep in again tomorrow, then, for Mariah's birthday (she's my lovely and incredibly patient wife), we're going to see the Downton Abbey movie. (See how nice I am for agreeing to go!? What a wonderful husband I can be?? There aren't ANY ghosts, monsters, robots, wizards, OR superheroes in that movie---but because I love my wife, I'm going to see it with her, anyway! Yep. I'm very kind---and she, obviously, has learned to put up with a LOT of garbage from me over the years... I'm an incredibly lucky guy...)
I'm thinking, by next week---Monday or Tuesday, maybe---I'll be able to get back into a regular production schedule, with specific times when I sit down and write, and specific projects being dealt with on specific days. I'm a frazzled and fractured individual by nature, so I need artificial structures, lists and timetables and goals, in order for me to get anything done... I'm a bit like FIRE---I'll burn uncontrollably in any direction, pushed along by the slightest breeze and, ultimately, I'm both dangerous and destructive---but if I can be contained and focused, put into a blast furnace (metaphorically speaking), I can get a lot done---even if I do still singe fingers and burn eyebrows off, if people get too close...
So, time to grab the welding gloves and bellows and get my ass refocused. Get some WORK done! (Starting tomorrow...of course...) [No shit, "Don't Give Up on Me" by Solomon Burke just came on, on random, on my iPod!!! Fate accompli??? We'll see!!!]
