Before there were cell phones, we used pagers, also called beepers, as a form of communication. Someone would call your pager number, it would beep and display there call back number. This one was more sophisticated, as you would call an 800 number and speak to an operator. She would take your full written message and it would display on this pager. Things have changed and evolved so much in the communication field.
