Cada violín tiene su particularidad, por eso dicen que detrás de un gran violín hay un maestro luthier, ya que se ha dedicado ha convertir estos instrumentos en verdaderas obras de arte. Cremona una ciudad de Italia, vio nacer a los mejores constructores de violines que fueron influyentes a lo largo de la historia, como Andrea Amati, Giuseppe Guarneri y Antonio Stradivari. Cada uno de ellos dio un gran porte a las innovaciones de cada construcción de un violín, estableciendo estándares y perfeccionando su sonido y que aún se siguen en lutería.
Uno de los misterios que trae la historia del violín es el sonido inconfundible de los Stradivarius. Ni los avances tecnológicos ni la luthería moderna, han logrado aun replicar con exactitud la resonancia y proyección de estos instrumentos. Han tenido hasta teorías de el sonido excepcional, la calidad de la madera que utilizaba hasta los barnices, cada cosa secretos aplicados por Stradivari. Incluso muchos científicos sugieren que el clima frío de la pequeña edad de hielo pudo influir en la densidad de la madera, dando a esos violines una acústica incomparable.
Con el tiempo, los violines de este luthier, pasaron por manos de grandes violinistas de la historia. Paganini tocaba un Guarneri del Gesú, mientras que Itzhak Perlman y Anne-Sphie Mutter interpretaban con violines de Stravadirus. Cada violín contaba con una historia fascinante, desde conciertos memorables hasta desapariciones misteriosas que eso llevo a el aumento de su valor y misticismo.
Estos grandes luthiers dejaron grandes legados y aun asi siguen vivo en cada nota que se extrae de un buen violín.
