It's funny, how our opinion of certain things, changes over time. If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be spending my time creating content online and on top of that, connecting with so many amazing folk, I wouldn't have believed you. I much more of an outdoor person and like to spend most of my day outside, it's one of the reasons, why I live as I do.
But that was then and this is now and since getting involved in Steemit/Hive, I discovered the rewards that comes with building an online community. There are some people, that you just click with, usually when you first encounter them, something that I thought could only happen, when you meet them face to face. But good old Hive proved me wrong once again, with that one. Cos I have connected with so many awesome people on here.
, is one such person. We both share a very similar mindset, when it comes to certain things. And with everything that has been happening these last couple of years, it was good to connect with people who see things the same way that you do. So when he mentioned, that he and his family were thinking of coming to Spain, I told him he had to come visit me.
For one, I knew that they would love it down here and plus I really wanted to meet them all. (Both humans and dogs.)
Then Ed told me that he was looking to play some gigs, so I arranged for him to play at a wonderful local venue ( a place I have posted about before). Then before I knew it, him and his family were heading this way for one night, so that he could preform at Huella Meraki. has already wrote a post about his stay with me, you can check it our here. So I won't go into too much details, only to add to the wee adventure we had trying to help him local where I live.
I got a message saying they were 4 minutes away, 4 minutes away from the location I had send him. Turns out that location was not the right one and after a few messages, where I was finding it hard to actually locate where they did end up, we find one another. Me waiting barefoot, over a mile away from my home and them, after such a long drive, with the warmest smiles to greet me.
There car was full, but I managed to sit next to Ed's beautiful wife for the drive to my place. It really felt like I was meeting old friends again, I just felt comfortable with them straight away. Me and Ed later joked together, about how I invited totally strangers into my home and how I, as a total stranger to them, led them down a dark windy road, into a dark property.
But the truth is, they never felt like strangers to me and I'm so glad that I did invite them and get them to follow me into the unknown. ( well unknown for them).
Our kids hit it off straight away and it was a joy to watch them all together. and
you have some awesome children.
It was so good getting to hang out with Ed and his wife, some great chats were had and I think it only solidified the fact, that we think very much along the same lines.
Then the next day, I got to see Ed preform on stage, nestled in between some beautiful Eucalyptus trees. ( It was the perfect setting). He has got such a soulful voice and being there listening to him, was the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Everyone who was present really enjoyed it and I even had a few people come up to me today, whilst I was in town, to tell me how much they enjoyed themselves and how impressed they were, by his talent.
My only compliant, is that they stayed for just one night. But it was enough, to encourage them to come visit again. My youngest daughter, has asked me quite a few times already, when her new best friend will be coming to stay again.
So yeah, here's to yet another reason, to love Hive. For bringing such wonderful people into my life!
