STEEM Park opens July 16th 2017!
It has been a busy few weeks! STEEM Park is rounding the final stretch and our team is in the process of fabricating custom signage / finishing the benches and planters. Here's a sneak peak into some of the signage, below...
The signage is meant to accomplish two things, serve as billboards for Steemit.com while simultaneously showcasing the legacy of Herbert Von King Park. Our intent is to blend the online community of Steemit.com with a real-life community within Brooklyn, New York.
It is really amazing to see this park furniture come to life. Your upvotes have literally become park furniture! The funding that we've raised for this project has been through sharing stories of the community and of the people who have made it so unique. There's a tremendous amount of value hiding in the narratives of our communities...
Steemit represents an entirely new way to unlock those stories and empower the neighborhoods that are passionately writing them.

Good For Community, Good for Steemit
This new neighborhood hotspot in the heart of Brooklyn will act as a colorful and dynamic billboard for the Steemit community. We believe that this physical design project is an important and exciting proof of concept for STEEM and Steemit. We want to build something physical, lasting and impactful with cryptocurrency. Tens of thousands of people will visit Steemit Park this summer. Our team
will host Steemit workshops and events for the purpose of onboarding community members and activists to the Steemit platform (this includes park visitors, park representatives, volunteers, local residents and more!)
Upvotes and donations will translate directly to funding for furniture, events, park maintenance, beautification and restoration for a neighborhood in need. This project is about discovering new ways of using STEEM and Steemit for social good!
