Thanks to fellow runner and photography appreciator for running this contest. It was fun going through my images from last year to come up with one that I like the best.
This is my favorite picture that I took in 2017. This photo was taken on my farm in Brookville, Pennsylvania in October. I was standing on top of the hill on a beautiful fall day with my kids. You can usually tell when the leaves have reached their peak color, and this was the day. You try to take full advantage of this day by taking a nice long walk. The air is crisp and the temperatures are beginning to drop. I like to classify this weather as "sweater weather." There is a very short window of time when summer ends and the leaves begin to change, and when the leaves reach their most vibrant. It usually happens within a few days. Then, just like that, the leaves begin to fall and you are staring at branches.
