The plurality of religions in Indonesia is sunnatullah. The diversity of the positive side can build harmony among people. While the negative if not managed properly will potentially lead to disunity and conflict.
This was conveyed by Dean Ushuluddin Doktor Lukman Hakim M.Ag in his speech at the Government Policy Workshop on Indonesian Religious Empowerment in Ushuluddin Faculty and Philosophy Hall of State Islamic University (UIN) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Thursday, December 28, 2017.
"Conflict occurs because the worldview is wrong, and most people assume that religious differences are enemies that must be fought," said Lukman Hakim.
According to Lukman, the conflict in society arises not only related to the differences of religion, but also internalized Muslims occur friction due to differences in theological beliefs and schools of jurisprudence.
Chairman Prodi Mawardi S.Th.I, MA said, Religious Studies Program and the Ministry can play any activities to develop awareness of religious harmony to give birth to the generation of intellect, as well as producing research on religious life.
"There is a lot of religious life issues that arise both internally and externally which is a shared responsibility, but there is a lack of understanding about the importance of religious harmony among the people," said Drs HM Daud Pakeh, Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
