There used to be a tv show, Boston Legal, with James Spader, and Willian Shatner, as 2 of it's lead actors. It was an interesting look at a law office, although I always think that many lawyers on tv would have their wins overturned later due to many infractions and discrepancies, and their actual win-loss ratio would be much worse.
In one episode, James Spader is tasked to be the lawyer for a teen who was suing his school for blocking the local conservative tv station. As is usually the case, it is with the closing that James Spader's character would sway the jury to get the results he and his client desired. In this he asserted that as far as the NEWS itself, that conservative station, covered the facts the same as middle of the road, and liberal stations. It is the analysis, and the discussions that took the news to the conservative view.
Fox is the conservative network in real life. Their analysis, especially now under the current White House administration, is a very conservative lean. As long as the news itself is covered, and you realize that the Fox News Shows, other than the nightly news, is opinion and editorial content, and that the liberal news network, MSNBC. does the same thing with it's analysis, you can take it with the proverbial grain of salt. Contrary to popular belief, CNN is pretty much a middle of the road network, both sides seeing them lean the other direction.
Now what I really wanted to say is that I am basically moderate to conservative leaning, but Fox is not my source for news, but I'll watch Fox Sports all day. I watched Nascar yesterday, I am watching FIFA World Cup on FS1, I watch Fox baseball, and during the fall and early winter, Fox football coverage is my main network for NFL football. I admit that being a fan of the Eagles, and Panthers, because they are the local teams at my current location, and where I grew up, and being NFC teams are more often covered by Fox Sports.
I also am a fan of various Fox network tv shows, although my favorite, Firefly, was never given the chance to grow. I used to watch House, still catch the Simpsons, and Family Guy, and actually look forward to what can happen with the purchase of Fox entertainment by Disney, although there is concern at what they will do to some of my favorite shows and movie franchises. I actually am glad that the News department is now separated from the entertainment department, that way the entertainment isn't judged in the same vein.
Basically I am saying that you should't judge the entirety of the network by the one part you like or dislike. You can pick and choose and change the channel if you want.
