Correct me if I am wrong but I do think that Ripple itself is a scam. The main idea of the cryptos was to be decentralized, not paring up with the big bulls of the financial district (banks).

Also the is no mining of ripple coins, they are using tokens like if I want to transfer $1000, they will just generate $1000 worth of ripple out of thin air. That's why I guess ripple is quite stable at 20cents for a long time.
