I have been getting a lot of people sharing with me flat earth videos lately and have actually dived myself into a video spree of people trying to prove that the earth is flat.
This actually makes my brain hurt!! why????
Because these people are serious. Serious enough that I have to ask all you flat earth believers a few questions.
I am not a scientist, I have never seen the earth from space, but I'm just gonna try and cover what I believe is a little common sense if you will to ask these questions.
Water??
Does water not always finds its level. Be it a glass of water or pool of water, teaspoon, puddle yada. You say the earth is flat, but its clearly not flat with mountains and hills and canyons, which may fill up with water and then level off.
Water can't bend? Stick your finger into a water glass, and the water bends out of the way of your finger. It's a fluid, it has almost no rigidity. The Earth is spherical, and since it's big and heavy, it has a substantial gravitational field. Gravity pulls things towards the center of the Earth. Water doesn't try to be "flat on top", it's just flowing towards the center of the Earth, and is stopped by whatever is in the way, your drinking glass, or the rocky bottom of the ocean. Since every particle of water is pulled towards the center of the Earth, the top layer, surface is smooth, and when viewed on a large scale, bent into a sphere.
The earth is large. Its quite big really especially compared to YOU and your site perspectives. It seems strange to me that you would think you would see any curvature of the earth when looking at the horizon from your small perspective. The horizon always rises to your eye level, this is from the ground a mountain top a tower a plane.
The Photoshop Earth??
I hear a lot about the earth being photoshopped and even if that was true, does that actually prove the earth is flat?
Lets say they are photoshop edited, that does not imply deceit considering photos are enhanced all the time, with contrast, hue or saturation. Even if a few extra clouds where added this does not all the sudden mean the earth is flat.
When you take a panoramic photo, all it is, is several images being stitched together, the same is happening with Nasa's photos of the earth from near earth orbit. Edits can actually be made to give a more accurate representation of what something would look like to the human eye.
I will say that, even though I believe its highly unlikey it is possibly that these images are completely fake, but this still doesnt prove in any way that the earth is flat.
Curvature and Skyline from a distance??
So another thing that keeps getting brought up with flat earthers, that I think has become a big tool in bringing on followers is being able to see land marks where they believe they should not because of earth curvature.
Example:
Toronto from Niagra on the Lake 31 miles away
Chicago from union peer 43 miles away
Oahu from Kauai 108 miles from center to center or 73 miles from the closest point
They say you will not see any curvature where its suppose to be, but one major major HUGe common sense thing that pops into my head is, the Elevation of YOU the observer. Are you accounting for the observers elevation and level.
Movement Rotation Gravity??
Okay so in this some of your arguments seem to be very convincing if you actually believe the laws of motion are NOT REAL and Isaac newtons is just speculating. Einstein theories are still today in everyday ACTIVE life still logically sound, are they not? Tested thousands of times by thousands of people all over the "globe" and proven to be true. Einstein is not just one of the most noted names in science for no reason, the man got it RIGHT.
The Sun is not 93 million miles away because of close range light rays?
Okay what! are you not accounting for perspective again and light reflection. Look down a long straight road it seems to become smaller and come to one point. Perspective can make something seem closer, smaller, larger scewed! But we know this, Okay seriously brain hurt here! Im sorry guys but on this one I just have to laugh at again what seems to be a very common sense perspective issue, and to discount this reality we live with every day is just absolute nonsense.
The entire idea of days, nights and how long they last only works if the Earth is round. If the Earth were flat and one person could see the Sun, then literally everyone on the whole planet could also see it.
so you think its all faked! They are keeping the truth from us! They??? for?????
cause who benefits from a flat earth??
You cant just discount everything from Nasa, and ancient history, and airlines, and all the visual multi media evidence. I mean you can! But... come on are we entering into idiocracy here.
