Having been studying hypnosis for the last few years, in my search to figure out the hidden order behind the visible, I came across the relationship between the feedback loop in what is known as Confirmation Bias, and the very mysterious root system of what makes Hypnosis work.
Hypnosis works by confirming a person’s own reality, in what is known as the initial “induction phase”, in which the subject is told what is happening to them. At this point, because the information is true, the subject agrees with the hypnotist. This loop of information is fed back, over and over again, until the hypnotist takes control, and starts adding their own fictional realities, which the subject then takes on as real.
This is the heart of how a feedback loop, of true information, has the subject being subverted into believing the hypnotist’s own fiction as real.
See my video below, on how they are connected in greater detail:
The classic method of hypnosis works like this:
An object is used in order to hold the attention of the subject.
This object is moved back in forth, in order to achieve nothing more than “eyestrain.” This eyestrain, is then repeated to the subject, such as:
“Your eyes maybe feeling heavy.”
This is the first feedback loop – at which real information, that the subject agrees with, is repeated over and over.
“Your eyelids may start to flicker.”
After this feedback loop is accepted as real – because it is real (your eyes get strained when focusing on a moving object)– then the hypnotist starts blending true information with fictional/commands, that become real to the subject – such as: “as your eyelids start to become heavy, you feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed . . .”
The line: “You feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed,” as seen above, here is the blending a command with real information, of the tired eyes.
Thus from a real feedback of real information, the hypnotist gains control over swaying the belief system of the subject, and inserting whatever information, for the subject to believe that they want after the feedback of real information has been cemented.
The subject’s mind thinking, subconsciously: I have been told what I know is true, over and over. Thus what follows must be true.
This effect might stem from evolutionary information efficient response behavior, in regards to survival. I.e., you know the river is dangerous because it contains crocodiles. Thus when someone says, they see something stir, and to move away, you are more likely to move away without question.
Confirmation Bias is defined as such:
Confirmation bias occurs from the direct influence of desire on beliefs. When people would like a certain idea/concept to be true, they end up believing it to be true. This error leads the individual to stop gathering information when the evidence gathered so far confirms the views (prejudices) one would like to be true.
It is worth noting, that although hypnosis is usually conducted on a small scale, the artificial engineering of confirmation bias could be done on a wide spread scale. This could be achieved with the use of media, social networks and other advanced tools.
The most important method would be exposure to such initial feedback loops – whereby afterwards, after the mass had accepted what was true, because it possibly was true - you could start leading the narrative by false information insertion/commands.
One of the largest engines of confirmation bias is in fact Facebook - which by its very nature, and self admitted algorithm, is a confirmation bias engine. Since people are heavily influenced by suggestion in the early phases the monetary benefit to Facebook would be those on the social network would likely be much more susceptible to advertising and ideological subversion.
This of course, has rather sinister end results, if done on a mass scale, since it would cause nothing less than large proportions of the human population to have their view of reality artificially cemented by mass hypnotic techniques. The effects would cause wide spread polarization between those exposed and those not exposed.
It is worth noting, that this long term subconscious manipulation is powerful, and may not be able to be undone. Its effects would be more in parallels with long term “cult programming”, than someone that has been affected with normal levels of suggestion.
Thus in order to be removed it would likely take intensive deprogramming, since those exposed to cult programming do not change their thinking with access to normal information easily, and in some cases not at all.
