Last week I ran a contest for #newbieresteemday initiative to pay gratitude to the amazing support I've received over the past few months. All Steemians are welcomed to participate :)
The Contest
Â
For my contest, I simply asked people to comment with their craziest experience on Steemit, it can be anything as long as it's interesting but the content has to be as genuine as it gets. I was ecstatic by the number of people who responded to my post.
I must say, running a contest is not as easy as it seemed.
The most difficult part was definitely the selection process. So, I have come up with a few ways of identifying a great comment:
Â
- Originality
- Creativity
- Time-sensitive (submissions before contest deadline)
- Engagement
Â
Of course, some might consider these factors subjective. But I took heed of the comment's quality; and since all of you gave an insightful content, I had to observe how engaging the comment was instead.
After checking all profiles and comments, finally, I have the winner.
Congrats to
!
Here is a link to the contest and I would highly recommend reading through the great comments for entertainment value.
As for those who didn't win, you're already a winner because the ever so supportive members of (
,
,
,
,
,
,
, and myself) have got you covered with some upvotes, and I ended up upvoting all of your comments too :) Not much but I hope it adds on to your pile of other rewarding comments on your portfolio.
Sorry, it took longer than I had expected to get this result out. I swear it wasn't procrastination. I had definitely underestimated the time of announcement and spent more time reading through the comments. Guess I couldn't read as fast as I thought 😅
Â
Again, I want to convey a huge thank you to all of you who have followed me, supported my work and initiatives along the way. I might not be as engaging as I was here and in discord but I promise to make time for a chat anytime you DM me :) It means so much to me and I hope it will to you all

These days I mostly write on Steemit.
I still have my portfolio and personal sites— virtuallydebbie.com and debbieang.com.
But these sites will eventually redirect you to my Steemit blog.
Well, what can I say. If it’s good stuff, you can’t get enough of it :)
Follow me and I'll take you through my unpredictable journey— filled with wilderness, curiosity, and randomness.
