If we want to have a beautiful prospering community, full of science, fun, philosophy, art etc. we all need to contribute somehow. There I was, wondering how I could contribute, apart from having my philosophical/sports/fun (so far) blog. When I’ve seen all the applications our programmes created, events our organizers organized, I was so impressed. And I thought to myself “what am I good at, that could bring additional community value?”... I realized that I have a lifetime experience of being geek/nerd… and a GOOD one at that! Might as well use it right?
Few days ago has posted his article, which motivated me even more (I’m not gonna thank you, my studies are even harder for that!:P). By that time my project went from Alpha to a Beta version (orchidaceous way how to call it maybe) and it’s almost ready to be presented. The only thing that is keeping me back at this moment is university. If everything goes according to plan, the completion of this semester will be inevitable in 1-3 weeks. That’s when I´m going to open the registration and present the project with all the necessary data attached.
My reach here is unfortunately rather tenuous and I would be really sad (like REALLY sad) if all the work I´ve put into it ended up completely in vein. That’s why I´m calling out even now!
Another guy who motivated me a lot is with his Apocalypse game. It brought me back to my DnD (Dungeon and Dragons) days. Living character´s life. Death creeping out on you at every corner. Putting your imagination and survival skill to the test! While his game is so much fun and I´m going to try my luck again in next season, I lacked there the complexity of DnD. The (seemingly) endless possibilities and not being restricted to few options only.
Until the official release I will keep the details to myself. I will try to tease you a bit though with the concept and rewards.
Brief introduction
I came up with Steemit alternative of DnD. Let me introduce to you – Dungeon and Steem (DnS)! In past weeks I´ve been creating detailed game rules. I´ve needed many beta tester that would help me find insufficient or half-baked parts of them. While I still didn’t finish the rules completely, I’ve already solved all the problems that arise with the absence of eye-to-eye interaction, which is a heavy part of the DnD gameplay and which cannot be provided by this platform. The biggest one being the need to reward those, who come up with crucial findings first and of course… the combat. While the system is not perfect by any means, it’s also set up in a way where it rewards not only those that follow basic goals of your character, but also those that prepare subtle plans counting with the characters stats. You will have complete freedom for fulfilling your storytelling desires. Maximum amount of players will be 18. If we reach that amount, Dungeon Mastering for me will basically be a full-time job (semester will be done though, so no problem). The more players, the more stories, the more fun for all of us!
Rewards
There will not only be an in game rewarding. I will of course reward the best players with Steem. I don’t have any, so I decided to share half of all the Steem I´ll gain through the game posts. Also promised to write a promotional post and its value will be added to the reward poll (thanks again buddy). Detailed explanation will be presented during the opening of the registration.
I only ask one thing. Help me spread the word! We are seeking for all the lovers of storytelling, people that want to be directly engaged in the game or just want to read all the awesome stories (or just those of their friends). I´m calling out to all the geeks/nerds – Come on join me in this project! It will be fun. I don’t know many users, but from the ´s game I like the storytelling of team “The Force”
. You might be interested guys. Also
might have come across people that might be interested? Or will?
Steem users please share the word, Re-Steem, tell your friends… help me :). I Will use a tag "dnsa"(DnS season 1) for all the posts concerning the game. Let´s have a GAME!
See you soon!
