Mr. Love Cheeks Contest!
Hello Everyone, I work mostly on remodeling people's homes for a living and doing that I am always running across large & small items that people no longer want and when I am taking a load of debris to the city dump I am always happy for them to toss anything else they want rid of on top of the pile if there is room in the truck.
I was asked if I could take a pile of old and ragged stuffed animals to the dump as this man's daughters had grown up and moved away and these particular ones did not have any significance to him any longer. Most were not much to look at but at the bottom of the pile I found this little guy. I couldn't just throw him away so I decided to bring him home and spare him from having to live out the rest of his life under a pile of rubbish. It really is a nice stuffed animal and it probably was not cheap to buy.
I guess you can say he is my Rescue Caterpillar. He is very colorful, always happy and has grown to almost 36" long! I really don't have the time to care for him properly and I feel he is getting very lonely as he spends most of the day all by himself. When my friends come over all they do is make fun of him (and sometimes me) so I had an idea to get him placed in a new surrounding. I think what would be ideal is to find him a home with a child that will love and care for him. When I told him about the idea earlier he became very excited and was happy to pose for a photograph.
So here is my idea to find him a new home. I am going to create a contest that anyone in the world can enter for their chance to win Mr. Love Cheeks. Whoever wins I will ship him to your home absolutely free of charge!
Here are the contest rules:
Write a blog about Mr. Love Cheeks. It doesn't have to be long and it can range from a funny fictional story or maybe even a more serious one about how you know a child that could really use a friend like him. It could be a poem or a song and you can even give him/her a new name if you'd like. There really are no limits on what you can do so just be creative.
Upvote & Resteem this blog and post the link to your story and a short introduction in the comments section of this blog page.
On May 4th 2018 I will select 3 of my favorite entries and then I will make a voting page where everyone on Steemit will have the opportunity to upvote any 1 of the 3 contestants. That page will stay up for 7 days so on May 11th 2018 we will see who has won! I will only be voting if there happens to be a tie.
Then I will stick him in a box and ship him out and give you the tracking number so you can keep a watchful eye on his journey. I will try to select the Rush Shipment option but depending on where you live and shipping costs that may effect this option but I am hopeful to be able to get him to you as fast as I can.
It's really that simple so I do hope I get some people to enter cause in all honesty I really need to get this thing out of my house. My friends really are giving me a hard time! When I first looked at it I thought how nice it would to be to give it to some sad kid somewhere but I've had it for 3 months now and no luck. I refuse to just toss it away because again it really is a nice stuffed animal. It looks 100% brand new off the shelf; no stains or holes and likely has just been packed away in a closet for who knows how long.
