Hereby my recommendation. It is written by
and the prompt fern is used.
A little miracle happened, something out of the past brightens up a crack. Even the neighbors stop by to admire it. Things change as soon as human interferes.
Read for yourself.
@ iamraincrystal
wrote an interesting short tale on…
How clever that the prompt "vegetables" was woven into the short tale too. Talk about being scared of eating veggies _
wrote nice poetry as well the story behind it..
I liked her interesting story on how she started planting and how she kept busy during summers. It reminds me of the need to tend to our container garden, now overgrown with weeds. _
shared such a lovely photo of a flowering Christmas cactus.
I actually have never heard of one before, so today I learned something new.
A story written by
using the prompt, fern is deep because it raises many questions about life, dreams and reality. It can really mess with your head if you think about it too much and that is why I say this story is "deep." There is one question asked that blew me away and one that I never thought of before. When you read "A fern mask" see if you can find that one question that stands out more than the others. My question for you is, have I piqued your interest now?
I have so got this!!!
wrote us a deeply moving and thought provoking poem for the prompt only what we could carry. For me it explores how we today, just like Adam and Eve long before us, ravage what we most cherish, even as we love it. What is that temptation, carried out over and over throughout history, for us to do what we know to be wrong? I loved this poem.
Then there was
with his very first and excellent freewrite for the same prompt which you can read here. For me, who knows NYC pretty well, his description of his first day in the city really entertaining.
By now I need to disclose that I am the Tuesday encourager, and Tuesday most certainly did not disappoint! It was a family affair too, because
wrote a fabulous FIVE MINUTE (OK she went a tiny bit over because there had to be an ending didn't there?) about a murderous refugee, and I for one approve of this murder. Or was it manslaughter? You decide.
For
, the prompt "fern" triggered so many great memories - mom, her garden, her place to be happy, it is there in the garden where I have great memories and images of her. I had to look up morrocoy: turtles? See her post and replies here:
I was looking for a freewrite by
this week, and found a most excellent #WednesdayWalk + Freewrite post. Who am I to heed "rules" about Friday Favorites written in response to a specific prompt? This post is filled with poetry, haiku, poignant observations about life and human fragility and nature's beauty. I can't say enough about how worth your time it is to visit this one. Never mind which freewrite prompt of the week might have prompted all this magic:

If you've followed
for a while, you know about Maureen's Jazz Cellar!
Let us not imagine that a five-month old post is five months cold. It's as worthwhile today no matter what the upvote rules say.
Musical Market Friday is also worth a visit:
Lest anyone grumble that I'm breaking the "Recent Posts Only" rule, let me reiterate that
might write more daily freewrites if she wasn't spreading herself "thin" (so to speak) on behalf of so many others here. Thank you
!
