First off, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who attempted to get the ball rolling on this project!!! I really appreciate the support I received from only a handful of fellow steemians. It actually builds my trust in the community and also reinforces my belief that this system and platform will be successful for years to come. So thank you Steemit Community, your hospitality will not be forgotten.
Lottery
While my introductory post on the lottery did gain a little traction, I was hoping that it would receive enough feedback that we could work through any kinks. Additionally, I had hoped to receive enough entries in order to show the fast response time in terms of payouts. We additionally had 50 SBD that were going to be allocated as prizes split up amongst the entries in the first 3 contest. We did not receive any entries which I believe has more to do with getting the word out and getting people to invest into something that not only rewards members, but also brings out the best content on Steemit. 95% of all proceeds go to growing the community which is my favorite part of The Official Steemit Lottery. These funds are allocated to original content, new member content, and ideas/services that make Steem better for everyone!!!
Moving Forward
If at first you don't succeed then get back up and try again!!! We will continue to have The Official Steemit Lottery because of the overwhelming amount of good that it will do for our community. I just hope that we can get the traction to get it started. I am open to any ideas, partnerships, or collaboration to help make Steemit the best social media platform imaginable and reward our users for great content. I appreciate all of the feedback from the initial posting.

To make this an actual feasible idea that rewards users and betters the community then we have to get people to enter it. By entering you know that 95% of proceeds will go toward making the community better and also that you have a chance to win a nice chunk of SBD.
