After a long time here is another small contest

As you might remember I just made a similar contest some month ago, where you were asked "Where are my tinsoldiers standing on?" relating to a photo of them that I had posted. They were standing on my marantz-hifi-amplifier and you can still see them standing in the background of the following picture which is part of my new contest.
Here's the new question that you must answer to win 2 steem, please comment with your idea in the reply section. Also to participate, please upvote this post. If more then one person answers right I will choose the one that was commenting first of course, or subdivide between the accounts if this is not limiting the percentage of the prizepool to much.
Now look at the photo and answer: "What kind of thing is this propellor and what is it used for?"
