I like to think that as we grow in our lives, whether financially or otherwise, it is our duty to raise people from under us too. It is our duty to teach, share, empower, assist those who do not have so they top can reach their full potential.
This was my aim in instituting this contest. I want to believe that those who benefit from this contest either directly or indirectly, will go on to replicate my actions and assist those who are starting out on their own journey.
Well, the contest ended as quietly as it began. I obviously am lacking in the area of marketing, pimping, preaching my product because the contest had only 18 submissions. I thought newbies wanted to grow, to become big on this platform? Are they not hungry enough or did their skill set deny them this opportunity? Well I leave that for you to ponder.
The contest had some issues in the area of the prompt and rules set. So many of the contestants could not write a story based on the picture before them and upvoting each other stories became something else. They were voting more than once when the contest rules stated that contestants should vote for a particular story they enjoyed.
What I did then, was to pick those with the highest number of upvotes, then I cancelled the upvotes that appeared more than once among those picked. With that I was able to get a winner.
