Welcome Steemit friends and Americans,
The good news is that the Convention of States Movement, an Article V Constitutional Solution to update government is is past the one-third mark of reaching the goal of 34 states.
At this time, I would like to tell you a story and show you why the left should join in.
I was twelve and was invited to Santa Barbara with a neighbor kid. We visited the grandparents. It was a fun trip and one of the things that happened in addition to surfing in the warm water of Santa Barbara, California was a college age uncle took my friend and me to visit a hippie commune way up in the mountains above the city.
I have always thought about this meeting because one hears so much about the way "the strange" live.
What was interesting was that the long haired man, the leader of the "commune" asked me at one point what I thought about his place and the people that lived there. I really did not have much to say, I was a kid.
"We are the same as any other normal people," he said.
Indeed, they were normal in a way. They owned an orchard of apples and pears and even though they had no electricity they worked the orchard.
In other words, these strange people of the "hippie commune" were farmers and three families lived in the house they built. By now, they probably have electricity and are on social security. Their orchard was large and several times the price of fruit has skyrocketed.
Yet, even though these folks were farmers, just because their views were retrograde to an America not that distant in the past, they were considered hippies, organic farmers.
It was an interesting experience. I never thought badly about them no matter what they thought because a few years prior we had moved from a farm to California but the point is this:
If you think you are on the left and really you are not, you are as conservative as it gets. Then, why not join and put your energies to a conservative movement?
Conservative Ideals are limited government, private property, freedom, liberty, reduced taxation, and God. There are a lot more parts to it than that namely, the Conservative Movement is supposed to be Constitutional - law abiding.
The left might say, well, we want a commune and that is not conservative - joint tenancy by survivorship. One legal term for land ownership by a co-op or commune in the United States. There are other forms such as corporate and so on as ways land ownership by many owners is legally and easily obtained such as Tenants in Common.
Many people do not understand, especially the left that there are reasons as to why such forms of property ownership are part of law in the United States. The reasons why the left does not understand this is because their vocabulary is jargonized through higher education and the law is worded differently than what is taught. That is the sole reason you are having trouble.
For example: Wherever settlers first settled in the United States they were most likely Christians and they held group ownership of a settled area and worked together in cooperation. You have heard of a Barn raising? Well, here where I live the first thing the settlers built were forts.
Cove Fort is a stone and mortar fort with battlements while up by Deseret the pioneers built a circular dugout. The dirt was the walls of the fort in Deseret and it is about 300 feet or a hundred meters in diameter. As better structures were built, people moved out of the forts and into houses, or initially barns.
The point is this, again: if you have conservative values, just because someone taught you the wrong words, lingo, or jargon it is important to come together at this time to ensure that your values are preserved.
