Honestly, I can’t believe last year was the first year we went to the Haunted Corn Maze. From the dozens of Scarers lurking around every corner of the Corn Maze to the sounds of Chainsaws revving up and people screaming. This place is absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
Last year didn’t make it but 20 yards in before a guy with a Giant Bloody Bunny Head wielding a chainsaw scared the living daylights out of here. He walked next to her for a few steps then slowed and got behind her. Then crept up behind her and fired up the chainsaw, revving it loudly. Let’s just saw she didn’t think that was too funny. So her and Mama-Splatts sat out last year while
and I risked our lives to conquer the Walla Walla Haunted Corn Maze.
My tough little girl was determined not to let the Haunted Corn Maze get the best of her this year. While is finishing the healing process from getting his appendix out, @kuku-Splatts and I, along with her uncle and a couple cousins, took on the Haunted Corn Maze.
I wish I could have taken pictures of all the creepy costumes and the ghoulish decorations. With very limited light, the pictures just weren’t happening this time. Saddening....Yes, But my brother in law got it all on video and I hope I can edit it and pull bits of the video out to show all of you. Me telling you about it just doesn’t do it justice. I am however going to attempt to tell you about a moment when my brother in law might have peed his pants a little. I’m not going to say he did or he didn’t. HAHAHAHA
About 1/2 way through the Haunted Corn Maze we approached a couple people sitting in chairs with flashlights. Off to the right of them was looked like a black hole. Well it kind of was, it was a tunnel..pitch black with a hint of a red light glowing deep inside. They told us to turn the flashlights off and proceed into the tunnel. After pushing away some sort of rag like curtains we proceeded into the tunnel.
Walking toward the red light, since it is the only light, you get sudden bursts of high pressure air hitting you in the legs. It might not sound like much but it will make you jump. As we approach the area lit up by the red light, I see something moving on the ground to the left of my brother in law. “What is that?” I’m thinking. Then to the right a little girl about 4 feet tall with white hair and a white face wondering inside the tunnel. She didn’t speak a word and just looked at you with half of her face covered by her hair. Just then I hear my brother in law yell, “What the hell was that!!” I didn’t know his voice could sound like that.
The object I saw earlier on the left was actually another little girl laying on the ground. As people would get closer she would start crawling after you literally scaring the crap out of grown men. My brother in law said he didn’t even see her down there because he was videoing the girl on the right. Then the girl on the ground brushed his leg and that is what made him pee a little bit. HAHAHAHA. That is just a little taste of what went on in this Haunted Corn Maze
What we failed to realize is that we were actually walking though someone’s work of art. Wait... Art???... Exactly!!! This year the maze was designed as a Lion. You can see it on their website in a video taken with a drone.
How fricking cool is that!! Aren’t those designs simply amazing!! Guess what, it so happens that I work with a guy whose family runs the whole Haunted Corn Maze operation. He gave me a quick explanation of how they get the amazing pictures into the corn field and somehow manage to make a maze out of it. It sounds like quite the process and he didn’t even go into detail about it. So I highly recommend, If you have a corn maze anywhere near you, get over there and have some fun!!! I lived here for 4 years before I finally decided to go and man-o-man was I missing out.
Good Times....
Good Times
Until next time..
