I haven't been out of the US ever since I came back from Japan in March 2020 and I've been itching to get out. The whole COVID thing is really making it hard to travel. For example, my original plan was to go to Colombia but the new COVID restrictions messed up that plan. I had my flight booked since July but in November, they enacted a new COVID rule saying that you must show a proof of vaccination to enter places like restaurants, night clubs, tourist attractions, theatres, etc in Colombia. At this point, I was like fine, not all the places will follow this rule and if worse comes to worse, I can always buy food and booze at grocery/convenience stores and just hang out in public areas like the beach or the park. But few days ago, they came out of with a new rule saying that all incoming tourist to Colombia must be vaccinated. No thanks!
So, I've cancelled my flight and booked a new flight to Mexico city. IMO, Mexico is where it's at right now! No PCR testing or vaccination is required. I'd rather spend my money somewhere they are not forcing COVID vaccines on everyone. ¡Viva México!
So, expect some travel posts from me on this blog in the future!
It's just crazy to me that all these Governments are forcing COVID vaccines on everyone. I've had COVID. It sure sucked but I don't think it's worth shooting up a new kind of vaccines in my body. Besides, you can still get COVID even if you are vaccinated. Sure, the symptoms are not as bad as being non vaccinated but you will still spread COVID even if you are vaccinated. Also, it seems like they only last for about 6 months and you will need a booster. They are already talking about a 2nd booster shot in France and Israel (So, 4 shots total!). Do you really want to keep getting a shot of these vaccines every 6 months?
This is my opinion but I think this whole thing is about money and control. This is not about your health. The countries or regions that are pushing the vaccines hardest are the places where they are manufacturing the vaccines. One in five corona vaccines will be made in Europe next year and they are of course pushing vaccines onto their citizens and even pushing it to countries like Colombia.
My hope with all this right now is that the Omicron variant which is not as deadly as other variant will spread and become the dominant variant so the vaccines will not be necessary.
