Oil palm entrepreneurs are asking for an acceleration of the use of crude palm oil (CPO) as a mixture of fuels.
"We hope that the elected president will accelerate the use of domestic CPO, especially for energy," said Executive Director of the Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Mukti Sardjono when contacted by Kontan.co.id, Wednesday (17/4).
In addition to domestic consumption, Mukti also requested an increase in domestic consumption. This is done by increasing the export of traditional markets and opening exports to new markets.
Traditional markets such as India, Pakistan, China and Bangladesh need to be maintained. In addition, non-traditional CPO export markets such as the Middle East and Africa.
To encourage the export of supporting infrastructure is also needed. Therefore Gapki also requested that the government of the elected president later boost infrastructure.
"It is necessary to develop oil palm export infrastructure, especially ports and transportation," explained Mukti.
Mukti also asked the government to do something on the production side. He said the elected president must ensure that the target of rejuvenation, especially community plantations, can be carried out so that it can increase productivity.
